Shock and alarm seize Brent Hyde when he arrives home from college to
find his parents missing from their dairy farm. The corrupt local cops
ignore him, so Brent must search for his family on his own. What he
discovers forces him to confront both his parents' secret past and the growing
evidence that his boyfriend Gary may be implicated in their disappearance.
A pushy reporter adds to the mystery of Brent's missing parents when he shows
up with a bizarre story about Brent's mother, a twenty-year-old secret research
project, and a warning of imminent danger. Events spin out of control
when intruders take pot-shots at Brent. Soon after, bodies start to
accumulate, all linked back to the same military bioengineering project from
two decades ago. When the FBI finally gets involved, they focus on Brent
as their main suspect in a web of murder and thievery.
Brent, his
boyfriend, and the reporter follow their own trail of clues that lead them back
to Brent's college. Buried in a deep sub-basement, they discover
documents that link Brent's mother to an experiment gone horribly wrong.
With a mob hit man, a corrupt FBI agent, and a rapacious corporate scientist
closing in, what they learn places them in mortal danger and confronts Brent
with a choice that will change all their lives forever.
